For students in the music school, their recital is one of the most anticipated parts of their college career. It is a chance to perform individually in front of their peers and professors and show off the hard work that has transformed them from an eager freshman to a well-versed upperclassmen.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, however, many seniors in the class of 2020 and class of 2021 did not get to have this classic experience. Many of those who had their recitals scheduled in spring of 2020 during the initial lockdown had to present their recitals to a camera in their homes. Since I was scheduled to do my performance in the Fall of 2020, I had the privilege of still being able to perform on campus in Nunemaker Auditorium. There were still many modifications that had to be made for safety reasons. In this presentation I will discuss the process of putting on my recital during this time of restrictions.
